We stayed in Roomzzz Manchester which is an 'apart-hotel' - which meant that each room had it's own kitchen including a hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster etc, as well as all the cutlery / crockery / utensils you could need. The bathroom was beautiful - felt so luxurious with a huge double shower, underlit mirrors and big white soft towels. We were on the third floor and had a view over the street with huge windows, but we never heard any noise and the blinds meant we weren't woken up early either. There was also breakfast included whichwas 'grab and go' - you just picked it up from the lounge area by reception and could eat it in your room - and there was also a little shop which sold essentials and some nice extras - e.... Walking around London -- Surprise locations - i do quite a bit of walking around london, round the back streets and places off the tourist path, and i'm always coming across places that are quite amazing, that i'm sure most Londoners never see. One of the obvious ones is Neal's Yard near Covent Garden. It's just a little alley between some shops, which opens out into a kind-of bohemian-style yard, with painted shops the kind of place where San Francisco 60s hippies might like to shop. Another one of my favourites is a residential street in South Kensington. This is the best looking residential street in the whole of London, i think. It's got large white 3 or 4 story mansions arranged around a little green park. but you have to approach it from the right direction to get the best effect go east along lexham gardens, all the way to the end, where there is a little alley north.... Hidden Gem Hotels - Hello all, I'm looking for some inspiration for a blog post on Hidden Gem Hotels throughout the UK. I'm after hotels that aren't particularly widely known, tucked away in stunning locations that you might only find by accident of by referral from a friend. I present to you "Travel Hangman". http://www.paul-johnson.co.uk/forum-images/hang.gif It's like normal hangman, except it's travel related. It might be a place, the name of a company, something that you do when you travel anything that's got something to do with travel. OK, first off we need some rules: 1. You are allowed up to 12 wrong guesses a guess could be the suggestion of a letter or the suggestion of the whole thing 2. Nobody is allowed to make a guess until the person that's started the game has responded to any outstanding guesses. For example, if someone guesses 'A', you must first wait for the originator of the game to confirm whether there is or isn't an 'A' in the word. It's also probably helpful if the originator posts a list of wrong guesses to date.... Any good restaurants in the UK? - Has anyone god any recommendations for good restaurants in the UK.
